Judge for yourself :
Rafel Gomez from Berlin not only graces us with two ab-so-lute-ly breathtaking tracks, but he also makes his comeback under the lights, quite a few few years after his storming debut releases on Substatic and Treibstoff... Ladies and gentlemen, Buena Onda very proudly brings you the return of El Berlinero... watch for this guy !
Jun06 takes things to ground level... with intensely sculpted sonic pieces, here is one guy who has been doing this microscapic stuff - litterally - exactly as we thought of it : "Little worlds". With Jun06's two tracks, there is some serious gardening going on : Pollen and Calyx are the names, digging deep seems to be the game. From very abstract minimalism to raw and punchy synth chords that add that little melodic drive just when we need it, Mr Juno has it all, and it's organic. Come with him under the giant stems and witness the garden from an insider's point of view ! Microscapes, we tell you !
Our Super-duper trained cyber-robo-dog A&R teams have also brought to light another natural talent with Argentina's Francisco Decono who delivers his first release with a happy-feeling promenade in a more synthetic and echoing world. March and halt a while with francisco, he's got that groove that your feet wanna tap to. So tap on...
... Because you ain't gonna stop tapping when it's time for Mr Ralph Sliwinski to take on your stereo ! (you DO have stereo speakers connected to that computer, right ? ok.) Yes people, just back from a trip to Plastic city, Ralph handed us the secret suitcase containing... apprently nothing more than the usual papers and stuff, but... well it seems he's let himself go in a very groovy minimal way on two floorburners, and here they are... a rocking follow-up to his releases on Hartchef, Plastic city, etc.
And how about some tough mind-and-body stimulation ? Well you can have a bit of that too with our technicians from mighty Russia : BVoice & KillaHertz have been rocking Moscow for a while now with their far-out psychedelic minimal funky stuff, and are also setting fire to excelentissima Radio Deepmix.ru. With two little jewels of precisely carved rhythms, insanely refined fx and ever present funkyness, there's no doubt these guys can tear the roof off any place the set foot into. You WILL dance !
Buena Onda has also sent its usual suspect Eyeone to try and deal with the affair of Micro-somethings and the man managed to emerge with a bit more than expected, one smooth deeper piece which perfectly sets the tune and makes a wonderful introductory track, and a DJ-friendly racing minimal tune a bit more in the style of his recently released 12 inch on Resopal.
Last but by absolutely no means least...
Freedarich and Stiggsen have composed the closing anthem of this compilation... A superstrong melodic line mastered in the unmistakable german style, and blessed with an angelic arrangement, this is the soul of the machine singing for you lucky lot !
The one track perfect to wave you goodbye after you have enjoyed more than an hour of great, fresh music... The Ideal closing track for this volume, composed with much love by F & S, will make you wanna keep this in your playlist forever.
Don't cry, they'll be back.
We'll be back.
In the meantime, listen to Microscapes Vol.1 again, and enjoy !
