Piemont was founded by the Hamburg based producers Frederic Möring-Sack and Christian de Jonquieres, whose numerous releases and remixes under their alias Phunklarique and Dejonka have already gained a huge fan base over the past few years. The initial output for their early releases has been the own record label Suchtreflex which they have been managing successfully since 2007.
From the early production of listening music they have made a big step towards the DJ scene, ending up in 2008 in many flightcases and charts of DJs such as: Richie Hawtin, Dubfire and Carl Cox.
Their beat ridden tracks do include a certain kind of magic in terms of abstract funkiness and soul which has been growing on people ever after they have listened to their tracks for the first time.
Many of their tracks have developed into evergreens, being played out for months and months. Now Piemont is no more a upcoming force in the scene but an established member of the top league of German producers with an international profile.
“Carbonat” and “Black Smoker” have been major hits but also “Central mouth” has evolved on a premium track. With their first album on MBF “Strange World Beyond” Piemont have for the first time explored also deeper moments in their music which they will now expose with continuity also on their b-sides of MBF records.
They have now played internationally for one year live and will take the next step in late 2009 to create a stronger live feel, including a more direct access to their “hi-tec” productions they are so famous for. Piemont’s next 12″ “Underpass” will be released in February 2010.
